The Diploma of Mental Health course includes 20 units of competency (15 core units and 5 elective units), delivered as 5 modules of training:

Career Pathways:
- Community Rehabilitation and Support Worker- The Community Rehabilitation and Support Worker plays an integral role in the delivery of services mental health services across the local community. This role is responsible for mental health intakes, assessment and triage of the required services for individuals who are experiencing mental health issues and who are seeking support.
- Case Manager- Case Managers are responsible for assisting clients to solve complex issues with the aim of enhancing their clients’ quality of life. This role requires the overseeing and coordinating of the long term treatment needs that addresses the specific and personalised needs of a client.
- Mental Health Support Worker- Mental Health Support Workers work with people who are living with mental illness, their families, carers and friends. This involves day-to-day support to help clients meet their individual goals, assisting them to navigate other health services and monitoring their progress. Mental Health Support Workers may work with groups and conduct outreach assistance that enables the management of daily activities and connection with the local community. You will provideconsistent and motivational support enablingpositive and forward-looking outcomes for your clients.
Entry requirements
Prospective students can enrol on the CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health course if they are 18 years or over and meet one of the following entry requirements:
- Year 12
- Certificate III or equilavent
