Class Central, the "TripAdvisor for online education," is the world's leading search engine for online courses, trusted by over 100 million learners worldwide to find their next course.

We're focused on two missions:

  • Helping learners find the best online learning resources, wherever they exist
  • Delivering world-class journalism with deep, insightful coverage on online learning

We've built The Report around rigorous, expert analysis that goes beyond surface-level coverage. We're open to receiving pitches for online education trends, news, analysis, listicles, and best courses guides.

We're Looking for Pitches on:

Note: We accept pieces previously published on personal platforms (blogs/websites).

What We're Not Looking for

  • Personal Essays and Opinion Pieces - We focus on data-driven analysis rather than individual experiences or subjective perspectives
  • How-to Guides and Tutorials - We don't publish instructional content or step-by-step guides
  • Individual Course Reviews - We cover industry trends and platform analysis rather than specific course reviews
  • General Education Content - We focus on online learning and digital education platforms
  • Promotional Content or Press Releases - We want original analysis and reporting, not repackaged company announcements or promotions of specific courses or platforms

Who Should Pitch Us

We're looking for expert insights and in-depth coverage. You should pitch us if:

  • You cover ed-tech, online learning platforms, or adjacent fields like upskilling, training, or workforce development
  • You have unique access to exclusive data, insider sources, or specialized subject matter expertise
  • You're a course creator, educator, or industry insider with firsthand experience with platform changes, teaching trends, or the business side of online education
  • (For Best Courses Guides) You're a senior professional or expert in a specialized field who can study, judge, and recommend quality courses and resources in your field (AI/ML engineering, cybersecurity, digital marketing, UX/UI design, data science, cloud architecture, product management, fintech, sustainability, creator economy, or emerging fields like agentic AI and generative engine optimization)

How to Submit a Pitch

Send your pitch to careers@classcentral.com with the subject line: Pitch: [Your Proposed Headline]

The ideal pitch should include:

  • Your Background - Tell us who you are, your background, and your writing experience (please include 1-2 writing samples)
  • Your Story Idea - Within 300 words, explain the angle and give us a clear picture of your story
  • Your Reporting Plan - Include experts you'll interview (not necessary for Best Courses Guides), official documents you'll review, or any other kinds of research you plan to do or have done

Overall, your pitch should answer these questions:

  • Who: What's your background, and why are you the right person to write this?
  • What: What's the core story or insight you're exploring?
  • How: What's your reporting approach and narrative structure?
  • Why: Why is this story important to our readers right now?
  • Where: Which section of The Report does this fit in (industry trends, platform news, analysis, resource guide, or Best Courses Guides)?
