Education Pathway

  • Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs-Students who complete this Skill Set course will receive 4 unit credits in our Certificate IV course.
  • CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs with ACCLM -Students who successfully complete this Skill Set course will receive 4 unit credits in the Certificate IV course.
  • Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management- Bachelor of Community Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs
  • Degree- Bachelor of Community Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs.

Entry Requirements

Prospective students are able to enrol on the CHCSS00093 Alcohol and Other Drugs Skill Set course if they are 18 years or over and meet one of the following entry requirements:

  • Completed Year 12 or equivalent or a Certificate III or higher
  • Your language literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills must meet the required standards for ACSF level 3 or higher.

  • Develop an understanding of how and why people become addicted to drugs
  • Evaluate the physiological effects of drugs and alcohol on the mind and body.
  • Identify the potential treatment options available for drug users and their potential effects.
  • Identify and learn different ways to support diverse groups with alcohol and other drug problems.
