  • Develop an understanding of dementia.
  • Identify warning signs of dementia.
  • Describe the relationship between dementia and behaviour.
  • Identify possible reasons for dementia-related behaviours.
  • Explain meaningful activities and support for people with dementia.
  • Describe the symptoms and characteristics of depression, such as low mood, tearfulness, sleep problems, and changes in appetite and weight.
  • Recognise the features and manifestations of anxiety, including feelings of dread, excessive worrying, and physical symptoms like increased heart rate, sweating, shortness of breath, and trembling.
  • Differentiate between agoraphobia and social anxiety, understanding that agoraphobia involves a fear of leaving one's house or certain situations, while social anxiety involves a fear of socialising or being in social situations.
  • Develop empathy and understanding for individuals experiencing common mental health disorders, fostering a supportive and non-judgmental attitude.
  • Recognise the need to destigmatise mental health disorders and promote societal awareness and acceptance.
