ABOUT THE COURSE:The main aim of this course is to discuss the various advancements or modifications of conventionalvapor compression systems and alternative refrigeration systems with future perspectives. This course contains energy and exergy analyses of vapor compression refrigeration cycles and their conventional and advanced modifications to improve the performance. This course also discusses the refrigerants in view of their performance, safety and environmental issues. This course also contains two important alternative refrigeration systems: ejector refrigeration (heat-driven system) and thermoelectric refrigeration (solid-state system). This course will not only educate on the different aspects of refrigeration but also give an overview of recent R&D trends in refrigeration.INTENDED AUDIENCE: Students from Mechanical Engineering and Food TechnologyPREREQUISITES: Thermodynamic and Heat transfer
