This course develops the ability to evaluate and govern AI use in Indian pharmacy practice. Learners audit AI outputs against Indian regulatory and clinical sources, assess liability and safety risks, and apply NLEM verification, CDSCO compliance, AYUSH screening, and PvPI reporting in pharmacy scenarios.

Syllabus

  • Apply the NLEM Verification Checklist to audit AI-generated dispensing and pricing outputs, identify the five high-risk AI compliance patterns in Indian pharmacy, and articulate the pharmacist's criminal liability under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Essential Commodities Act for AI-processed prescriptions.
  • Evaluate AI-generated drug information against CDSCO approvals, Indian Pharmacopoeia, and PvPI ADR data, identify AYUSH-allopathic interaction risks invisible to Western-trained AI, and apply the PvPI reporting framework with independent clinical assessment of AI-normalised adverse events.
  • Articulate the pharmacist's professional liability across India's multi-layered legal framework for AI-assisted practice, apply an AI governance framework to evaluate tools for Indian pharmacy adoption, and develop a career resilience strategy aligned to ABDM digital health integration and India's evolving pharmacy landscape.
  • Apply AI tools appropriately within PCI curriculum requirements and Indian academic integrity frameworks, identify five India-specific AI failure modes most likely to mislead pharmacy students, and formulate a progressive career readiness strategy that positions the student as an AI-literate practitioner in India's competitive pharmacy workforce.
  • Demonstrate integrated application of NLEM verification, CDSCO compliance, AYUSH safety screening, and PvPI reporting across four 3D animated Indian pharmacy scenarios, identifying AI errors with direct regulatory and patient safety consequences.
