Learn to turn movement screening into focused, responsible corrective exercise decisions. This course gives personal trainers a practical process for observing movement, identifying patterns, testing useful changes, and selecting an appropriate first programming priority without diagnosing injuries. You will examine shoulder mobility, squat mechanics, hip stability, gait, thoracic motion, balance, and single-leg control, then connect individual findings into a whole-body interpretation. Each lesson emphasizes what a trainer can observe, what the observation may mean for exercise selection, and what cannot be concluded from a screen alone. Guided viewing activities, response checks, and case-based decisions help you separate meaningful patterns from isolated imperfections. By the end of the course, you will be able to create a Corrective Exercise Screening and Priority Map that links a client’s goal, movement observations, response testing, one defensible corrective priority, an entry-level strategy, and a relevant reassessment marker. The course gives trainers a structured, scope-aware foundation for corrective programming.

Syllabus

  • Module 1: Course Orientation and Corrective Exercise Scope
    • Establish the trainer’s role in corrective exercise and learn how observation, response testing, programming, and referral fit into a responsible decision process.
  • Module 2: Foundational Movement Screens
    • Use practical shoulder, squat, hip-stability, and balance screens to gather useful movement information before selecting exercises.
  • Module 3: Whole-Body Movement Interpretation
    • Connect posture, gait, glute contribution, squat response, thoracic movement, balance, and single-leg control into a coherent interpretation of how a client organizes movement.
  • Module 4: Screening Decisions and Corrective Priorities
    • Turn collected screening information into one focused programming decision, an appropriate starting strategy, and a useful reassessment plan.
  • Module 5: Course Summary
    • Consolidate the complete screening workflow and prepare to apply it through the final course assessment and priority-map deliverable.
