Influential Leadership focuses on how Microsoft leaders influence outcomes through communication, feedback, negotiation, and emotional intelligence. Leadership impact depends on the ability to deliver feedback, manage conflict constructively, and drive accountability while maintaining trust. Feedback, performance and accountability

This module develops the ability to give and receive feedback in ways that improve performance and reinforce accountability. You will practice delivering clear, growth-oriented feedback aligned with Microsoft’s performance and learning culture.

Conflict, negotiation, and emotional intelligence

This module focuses on managing conflict and negotiation constructively while maintaining trust and collaboration. You will practice applying emotional intelligence to high-stakes conversations common in cross-functional Microsoft environments.

Making leadership capability visible

This module focuses on identifying and articulating leadership capability demonstrated through real decisions, conversations, and outcomes. You will learn how to select meaningful evidence of leadership practice from your work across the certificate.

Communicating leadership readiness

This module focuses on communicating leadership capability clearly and credibly in career conversations, such as role transitions, performance discussions, or development planning.

Positioning your leadership profile

This module focuses on identifying, organizing, and positioning leadership capability demonstrated through real decisions, conversations, and outcomes. You will build on artifacts created throughout the certificate to select meaningful evidence of leadership practice and align it to expectations for expanded responsibility. You will also practice evidence-based positioning, helping you move beyond self-description to defensible demonstrations of leadership judgment, accountability, and impact.

Advancing your leadership career

This module focuses on applying a leadership capability profile in real career contexts, such as development conversations, role transitions, internal mobility discussions, and promotion readiness evaluations. You will practice communicating leadership readiness clearly and credibly, adapting your narrative to different audiences and situations while maintaining alignment with Microsoft leadership expectations. Use the practical activities to help you move from prepared leadership evidence to effective career conversations that demonstrate judgment, impact, and growth.
