Explore how climate and temperature patterns shape grape characteristics and wine styles across the world's most celebrated regions.
In this warm-climate wine course, we investigate global patterns by examining the world's premier warm wine regions through guided tastings. You'll discover ripe, expressive wines from some of the most dynamic wine-producing areas: Southern France, Southern Italy, Southern Spain, Portugal, Greece, Washington State, South America, Australia, and South Africa. These regions showcase how warmth influences grape ripeness and flavor development.
Our guided tasting session features 6 to 8 classic regional wines with a focus on New World versus Old World comparisons. You'll sample traditional expressions of Grenache, Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet, and Zinfandel to understand how terroir and climate interact to create distinctive wine styles.
