In a series of classes, a singer-actor and Alexander Technique teacher will guide participants through a step-by-step process to deliver an embodied, present, performance first as themselves and then as a character.
The first class will examine participants' own primary patterns of movement and thinking. The second class will bring awareness of those patterns into performance as we explore performing without a character as in singer/songwriter, art song recitals, or cabaret. The third class will examine participants’ secondary or alternative options of movement and thinking in search of possible characters. The final class will bring these alternative patterns into performance as an exploration of truthful singing as a character.
