The 2 Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness class online provides essential training for construction workers and supervisors on the nature of drug and alcohol dependence disorders and their effects on individuals, workplace performance, and job site safety. Students will gain a clear understanding of how substance use impairs judgment, coordination, and decision-making, and will learn to recognize the signs that a coworker may be under the influence on the job.
Drug and Alcohol Training: NYC DOB Requirement (Local Law 196)
Local Law 196 established new training requirements for demolition and construction workers in all five boroughs. To receive a Site Safety Training (SST) card and work legally on NYC construction sites, workers must complete a specified number of training hours, including this 2 Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness course. Other required training includes the 30 Hour OSHA construction course and the 8 Hour Fall Prevention course.
CEU Requirements:
- 100% attendance for the 2 Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness online course
- Completion of the Continuing Education and Training Registration Form
- Active participation in all class exercises as determined by the course instructor
- Completion of required pre- and post-quiz assessments
- Achievement of the minimum passing score on the required end-of-course examination, where applicable
- Submission of the end-of-course evaluation form with your name in order to receive credit
