Human Geography, also known as anthropogeography, is the branch of geography which deals with spatial relationships between human societies, cultures, economies and their interaction with the environment. Importance and scope of human geography: this course deals with space, location, place, landscape, region and environment. This discipline explores how man shape physical environment and its impact on him, as well as how human create and organize regions and spaces. Human Geography investigates several aspects of human being, including spatial distribution and density of population, composition, socio-cultural aspects like religions and languages. This course examines the origin and evolution of man and principle human races of the world, major tribes of world and India, major cultural realms of world and movement of people from one region to another. Human Geography studies about the origin and evolution of human settlements, types and patterns of rural and urban settlements, growth patterns of urbanization, and it also focuses on Human Development Index and its indicators. At the end, it analyses the population-resources relationships and Regional Resource development.
