Bioinformatics for Biologists

ABOUT THE COURSE:The Bioinformatics course equips students with hands-on skills for visualizing and analyzing bioinformatics datasets. Topics include mathematical modeling of biological systems, gene expression analysis, protein structure prediction, and protein-drug interactions. By the end of the course, students will be proficient in analyzing biological datasets and developing their own models.INTENDED AUDIENCE:BSc, B. Week 3: Analysing RNA-sequencing and Transcriptomic Data (GKP)

Week 4: Systems Approach in Biology, Mathematical Modelling Techniques for Biologists, Different Types and Approaches to Modelling (RP)

Week 5: Steps Involved in developing mathematical models for Biological Systems and examples (RP)

Week 6: Online tools for network visualization and analysis: Cytoscape, UCSC browser, and Galaxy (GKP)

Week 7: Protein Structure Prediction and Visualization (RP)
