Learners will develop an understanding of the challenges and opportunities that globalisation presents in educational institutions. The module encourages critical reflection on the moral and ethical responsibilities of educational leaders in a rapidly changing world.

Contextualising the Study and Practice of School Leadership in an Era of Globalisation

This module explores how various macro-level contexts-such as institutional, national, and economic factors-shape the practice of school leadership. Learners will gain insights into the cultural and structural influences that affect educational leadership decisions and strategies. The module emphasizes understanding the broader environmental factors that impact school management and leadership effectiveness.

This module explores how societal culture shapes leadership practices and educational transferability, emphasizing the importance of cultural awareness in global contexts. It covers key concepts like cultural dimensions, cross-cultural borrowing, and the impact of cultural values on educational policies and leadership styles.

School Leadership in Developing Countries: The Case of South Africa

This module explores the challenges and opportunities of school leadership in developing countries, with a focus on South Africa. It delves into theoretical frameworks, cultural contexts, and the impact of historical and structural inequalities on educational leadership. Learners will gain insights into how leadership can be adapted to address multiple deprivations in under-resourced settings.

Educational Leadership in Post-Conflict Situations
