This course is designed for new managers, first-time team leaders, supervisors, and professionals transitioning from individual contributor roles into people-management responsibilities. It is also relevant for early-career managers who want to strengthen their resilience, manage workplace pressure more effectively, and support the well-being and performance of their teams.
The course introduces the key sources and effects of workplace stress, with a focus on the challenges faced by new managers. Learners will explore the relationship between stress and performance, the foundations of resilience, and practical well-being approaches such as the PERMA model, stress regulation, box breathing, cognitive reframing, and personal resilience planning.
By the end of this course, learners will understand how to recognise and manage their own stress, identify signs of stress and burnout in team members, provide appropriate support while maintaining professional boundaries, and create healthier team conditions through workload balance, prioritisation, effective meetings, workplace boundaries, and sustainable work practices.
