This course introduces the world of business analysis through simple, practical examples. Learners explore what Business Analysts do, how they create value, and how AI can support research, documentation, and analysis. The course covers business problems, requirement types, BABOK-aligned concepts, consulting context, and the BA lifecycle. By the end, learners will be able to describe the BA role, identify common requirement types, and explain how business analysis connects business needs with practical solutions.

  • Role of Business Analyst in Consulting (Human + AI partnership)
    • Step into the world of business analysis through relatable, real-world examples and practical insights. Learners explore what Business Analysts do, how they create value, and how AI can support research, documentation, and analysis. The course covers business problems, requirement types, BABOK-aligned concepts, consulting context, and the Business Analysis lifecycle. By the end, learners will be able to describe the Business Analyst role, identify common requirement types, and explain how business analysis connects business needs with practical solutions.
  • Domain Knowledge – Industry Terminology & Regulations
    • This module focuses on the role of domain knowledge in helping Business Analysts understand the industries and organisations they support. Learners will explore how industry terminology, business processes, regulations, and risk considerations influence business decisions and stakeholder expectations. Through practical examples, readings, assignments, and role-play activities, participants will develop the ability to interpret business context, ask more meaningful questions, and uncover the underlying causes of business challenges. The module highlights how strong domain knowledge enables Business Analysts to build credibility, improve collaboration, and deliver solutions that align with organisational goals.
  • BABOK Knowledge Areas Overview
    • This module provides an introduction to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) and its importance in guiding professional business analysis practices. Learners will explore the six BABOK knowledge areas, understand how they connect to everyday Business Analyst activities, and examine how BABOK can be applied in real project environments. Through videos, readings, practice activities, and assessments, participants will develop a practical understanding of BABOK as a flexible framework rather than a rigid checklist. The module emphasises how Business Analysts can use BABOK principles to structure their work, make informed decisions, and deliver meaningful business value.
  • Regulatory Compliance in Business Analysis
    • This module introduces the critical role of regulatory compliance and risk management in business analysis. Learners will explore how regulations influence business processes, decision-making, and organisational change, while examining the Business Analyst’s role in translating compliance requirements into practical business solutions. Through videos, readings, role-play activities, and applied exercises, participants will develop the skills needed to identify risks, assess regulatory impacts, and support compliant business operations.   • BA Lifecycle and Requirement Types (functional vs non-functional, with AI quality bars)
    • This module explores the business analysis lifecycle and the role of requirements throughout the solution development process. Learners will examine different requirement types, understand how requirements evolve across projects, and develop practical skills for managing requirements effectively. Through videos, role plays, assignments, and real-world examples, participants will learn how to maintain scope, handle changing requirements, and ensure that business needs are accurately translated into valuable solutions.
  • Knowledge Check & AI-Augmented Assessment
    • This module serves as the final assessment for the course, providing learners with an opportunity to validate and apply the knowledge gained throughout their business analysis learning journey. Through an AI-augmented practice assessment, participants will analyse scenarios, evaluate business problems, and demonstrate their understanding of core business analysis concepts. The module reinforces practical application, analytical thinking, and the effective use of AI as a tool to enhance business analysis outcomes while maintaining professional judgement.
