Syllabus

  • Welcome
  • Facilitation Skills
    • In this course, we'll examine essential skills that agile coaches use. We'll move beyond theory, offering practical guidance and real-world scenarios to help you develop and refine your coaching toolkit. Our first module, Facilitation Skills, will equip you with the tools and techniques to design and lead impactful sessions that foster collaboration, engagement, and shared ownership. You'll learn how to plan effectively, create a psychologically safe environment, improve active listening, and guide groups toward consensus and meaningful outcomes. Join us at the Alpine Summit Agile Coaching Retreatâ„¢, where you'll witness experienced coaches Maeve and Rae in action. Through their interactions and the challenges they navigate, you'll gain valuable insights and practical strategies to apply these facilitation skills effectively.
  • Teaching Skills
    • Welcome to Agile Coaching Skills: Teaching, where agile coaches and people who are interested in becoming agile coaches have gathered at an Agile Coaching Retreatâ„¢ to explore coaching topics, collaborate with peers, and leave with renewed perspectives. In the Marketplace retreat session, attendees form teams around topics that they are passionate about. The teams will craft a vision focusing on the value they want to deliver. Just like they would on any other scrum team, they’ll select a product owner and scrum master. The rest of the retreat will be divided into sprints, which will start with planning and continue with doing sprint work. In this module, watch as retreat attendees emerge from the Marketplace activity with the desire to explore teaching skills and collaborate to define, develop, and practice teaching skills.
  • Mentoring Skills
    • Benji came to the Agile Coaching Retreatâ„¢ to learn new skills, get ideas from other agile coaches, but most importantly to breathe and reset. But there’s just one thing he can’t stop thinking about—and that’s how the Clinical Trials Data Team is underperforming. This is not only affecting him but the hospital as a whole. The current processes aren’t working, and Benji is hoping to leave the retreat with fresh ideas. In this module, you’ll learn how to apply mentoring skills in your daily work while helping mentees recognize their own areas of weaknesses and growth opportunities to create a positive change for themselves and their teams. Will Benji be able to mentor the Clinical Trials Data coordinator to more effective and efficient ways of working?
  • Advising Skills
    • Welcome to Agile Coaching Skills: Advising! In this module, you’ll return to the Agile Coaching Retreatâ„¢ to deliver a workshop on the essential skill of advising. But a morning walk in the woods turns into an unexpected path of discovery as other attendees help you reflect on how to build trust and rapport with clients, ask powerful questions, use storytelling, deliver feedback constructively, and set healthy boundaries. Get ready to enhance your advising toolkit and gain the confidence to guide your clients on their agile journey!
  • Leading Skills
    • Welcome to Agile Coaching Skills: Leading, where you’ll join several attendees of the Agile Coaching Retreatâ„¢ as they meet for breakfast before the day’s events. These coaches and prospective coaches all have experience in the healthcare industry and are excited to collaborate about how they lead organizations through agile evolution. In this module, you’ll discover strategies for inspiring others, taking responsibility, creating a culture of transparency, and modeling agility as the colleagues share their stories.
  • Coaching Skills
    • Welcome to Coaching Skills where we join our facilitators, Rae and Maeve, and the rest of the attendees on the last day of the Agile Coaching Retreatâ„¢.
