The Central Coast stands as California's most rapidly expanding wine region, earning increasing recognition for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, distinctive Rhone-style wines, and other exceptional varietals. You will study fundamental concepts, including the primary grape varieties cultivated in the region, climate influences on wine quality, the 11 emerging AVAs located within the Paso Robles area, plus the newly designated SLO Coast AVA, and the distinctive characteristics and notable contrasts between the established Edna Valley and Arroyo Grande regions.
