Its cultivation zones stretch from the lush landscapes of Vancouver Island to the scenic Okanagan Valley with its many beautiful lakes. The region creates memorable wines from established international grape types, including Cabernet Franc and Gewurztraminer, together with interesting wines from uncommon hybrid grape varieties.
Become knowledgeable about BC and Idaho, which actually has a surprising collection of wine production facilities. Topics will include regional temperatures, terrain composition, distinctive landscape characteristics, and specifics on every Geographic Indication designation. The tasting component covers 6-8 wines selected to reinforce course concepts.
