Workers and supervisors holding Site Safety Training (SST) cards that are set to expire during 2023 are required to complete refresher-level safety training before they can process their card renewal applications.
Timing Requirements for Refresher Training: Refresher course completion must occur within one year prior to submitting your card renewal application. This timeframe ensures your training remains current and relevant.
Refresher Training vs. Full OSHA Courses: Note that workers and supervisors are not required to repeat comprehensive OSHA training programs. Refresher training pathways have been specifically designed to satisfy all mandatory requirements for successful card renewal.
Available SST Worker Refresher Training Options: The complete refresher training requirement for SST Workers consists of 8 hours of instruction, which can be fulfilled through either of the following combinations:
- 4-Hour Fall Prevention course combined with 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Refresher, or
- Alternative approved refresher pathway combinations (contact your training provider for available options)
