32-Hour SST Combo Course - Supervisors - Online Webinar (Live Online)

via CourseHorse

Overview

New York Local Law 196 mandates that all workers and supervisory personnel at construction sites receive comprehensive safety training, particularly at locations where a construction superintendent, site safety coordinator, or site safety manager has been designated. As of September 1, 2020, all workers must complete a minimum of 40 hours of approved training to earn their Site Safety Training (SST) card.

Supervisors have more stringent requirements: they must accumulate 62 total hours of training by June 1, 2019, to qualify for the Supervisor SST card. The most efficient pathway for supervisory personnel involves completing a 30-hour OSHA class (available through separate registration on the OSHA course page) combined with the following 32-hour SST package, which can be completed in 3.5 days:

  • 8-hour Fall Prevention course
  • 8-hour Chapter 33 course
  • 4-hour Supported Scaffold User certification
  • 2-hour Site Safety Plan workshop
  • 2-hour Toolbox Talks training
  • 2-hour Pre-Task Meetings training
  • 2 hours of General Electives
  • 2 hours of Specialized Electives
  • 2-hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness training

Prior Training Credit: If you have already completed training in certain SST topics, those credits can be applied toward SST card requirements. Refer to the NYC DOB Course Equivalent document to determine which hours count toward your SST card qualification.

Identification Requirements: You must present identification documents totaling at least 4 points. The following combinations satisfy this requirement:

A New York State DMV or NYC ID Card equals 4 points; or alternatively, other government-issued ID, such as another state's DMV card, US passport, or foreign passport, equals 3 points, which must be supplemented with an additional proof of address document (utility bill, cable bill, bank statement, or credit card statement) worth 1 point.

Important Information:

  • Upon successful registration, you will receive instructions for accessing the webinar via ZOOM.
  • You will need a personal computer equipped with both a webcam and functioning audio to participate in the live webinar.
  • A valid New York state ID (such as a driver's license) must be presented at the start of the webinar for verification purposes.
