The module also explores stakeholder analysis and mapping, using tools like Mendelow’s Matrix. Additionally, it examines the importance of strategic champions, the political perspective of strategy development, and the ethical implications of stakeholder management. By the end of the week, you will be able to identify and engage stakeholders, analyse their influence, and understand the ethical and political dimensions of stakeholder management.
  • Managing strategic changes
    • This week, the module delves into managing strategic changes. It covers the key elements of strategic change, including the importance of context, inertia, and resistance. The module also explores types of strategic change such as adaptation, reconstruction, revolution, and evolution. Additionally, it examines strategic leadership styles and the role of outsiders in leading change. By the end of the week, you will be able to assess different styles of leading and managing strategic change, analyse how organisational context affects change programs, and identify types of required strategic change.
  • Applying strategic management
    • This week, the module delves into innovation. It covers the strategic importance of innovation, different types of innovation, and innovation platforms. The module also explores radical and incremental innovation, and the political process of innovation. By the end of the week, you will be able to critically evaluate factors that enable and impede innovation, present examples of innovation, and relate innovation to strategy.
