Project Management: Teams, Procurements, and Execution

Overview

In this course, you'll continue developing your project management skills by planning your project team, assembling the team, developing the team, and handling conflicts within the team. You'll also plan for project procurements, obtain responses from vendors, and manage vendors. Then, you'll prepare for project execution, manage project changes, and monitor the project scope. This is the third course in a multi-course Specialization. All of the courses in this Specialization require that you have a recent version of Microsoft Word and Excel installed in order to open the course data files. The course setup instructions provided in the first course go into more detail about the hardware and software requirements.

Managing the Project Team

So far, you have planned for time, cost, risk, and quality. Planning for the personnel to perform the work is the next big step and should not be overlooked. Choosing the right set of people with the right skills and attributes is vital for project success in both Predictive and Adaptive projects. In this lesson, you will plan, assemble, develop, and manage the team for your project.

Managing Project Procurements

You planned for project risk, human resources, and quality. You are almost ready to transition to executing your project. Before you can do that, you need to identify ways to secure and manage external resources for your project. In this lesson, you will manage project procurements.

Executing the Project

Up to this point, you have been performing all the planning activities necessary to ensure that the project is successful. In any project, changes are inherent and the two project management approaches address change in different ways.
