Project Management: Costs, Risk, Quality, and Compliance

Overview

In this course, you'll continue developing your project management skills by establishing project costs and cost baselines, reconciling funding and costs, and determining the burn rate for adaptive teams. You'll also create a risk management plan, identify risks and triggers, analyze risks, and develop a risk response plan. Then, you'll deliver project results and verify compliance requirements. This is the second course in a multi-course Specialization. All of the courses in this Specialization require that you have a recent version of Microsoft Word and Excel installed in order to open the course data files. The course setup instructions provided in the first course go into more detail about the hardware and software requirements.

Syllabus

Planning Project Costs

At this point in the planning of your project, you have used the Predictive and Adaptive methods for creating a project schedule and an initial Release Plan. Along with scheduling, sound project management requires the ability to accurately estimate the cost of the project. In this lesson, you will learn about costs analysis and budgets in Predictive projects and burn rates in Adaptive projects to monitor the costs as the project is executed.

Planning for Risk

You created a budgeting process for your project and developed cost estimates and budgets. Project risk is another important factor to plan for in both Predictive and Adaptive projects. In this lesson, you will plan for project risks so you can identify and mitigate those risks.

Planning for Quality and Compliance

At this stage of the project planning, you have planned for time, cost, and risks in Predictive and Adaptive projects. You will continue planning for your project by focusing on quality and compliance. In this lesson, you will plan for project quality and compliance with standards, rules, and regulations.
