This course will be useful to anyone who wants to use Power BI to unlock business insights from their data. You will learn how to analyze data with self-service BI. You'll also connect to various data sources and manage relationships with those sources. This is the first course in a multi-course Specialization. All of the courses in this Specialization require that you have a trial version of Microsoft 365 Business Premium, along with Power BI Desktop. The course setup instructions provided in the first module of the course go into more detail about the hardware and software requirements.

Syllabus

  • Analyzing Data and Reporting with Power BI
    • Analyzing data, discovering useful insights, and infusing data-based visualizations into other apps is no longer a job reserved for dedicated data analysts. People in many job roles have access to more data and processing power than ever before. Business Intelligence (BI) is the art and science of analyzing data to find insights and opportunities, and to developing visual reports to showcase that information. In this lesson, you will describe data analysis and visualization for business intelligence, and how users can perform self-service BI with Microsoft® Power BI®.
  • Connecting to Data
    • In any data analysis or visualization project, the first milestone is to connect to the data sources. By creating data connections and establishing data relationships, you can develop a model for analyzing and visualizing your data.
  • Completing the Course
    • You'll wrap things up and then validate what you've learned in this course by taking an assessment.
