Power BI: Data Cleaning, Transformation, and Visualization

Overview

In this course, you'll continue analyzing data using Power BI by cleaning, profiling, and shaping data. You'll also create data visualizations and customize those visualizations to ensure they are clear and tell the story you're trying to tell. This is the second course in a multi-course Specialization. All of the courses in this Specialization require that you have a trial version of Microsoft 365 Business Premium, along with Power BI Desktop. The course setup instructions provided in the first course go into more detail about the hardware and software requirements.

Syllabus

Cleaning, Transforming, and Loading Data

Connecting to data and establishing relationships to build a data model does not mean that you're ready to start analyzing or visualizing data. Data sources often contain extraneous, unwanted, or unneeded information, or information that needs to be adjusted in some way for analysis. In this lesson, you will perform cleaning, profiling, and shaping to prepare your semantic models for analysis and visualization.

Visualizing Data with Power BI

Now that you've prepared your data for analysis, it's time to start building visualizations that will help you see trends, patterns, and correlations in the data. In this lesson, you will visualize data with Microsoft® Power BI® Desktop.

Enhancing Visuals for Data Analysis

Although visuals that showcase insights from data are often the focal point of the reports created with Microsoft® Power BI®, you can enhance your visuals to make them clearer, and to make the story you're trying to tell stand out. In this lesson, you will enhance data analysis.
