Syllabus

  • Installing Linux
    • This module guides learners through the process of installing Linux on both physical and virtual machines, including configuring WSL and selecting appropriate distributions for various needs. It covers basic and advanced installation techniques, such as using VirtualBox and PXE network booting, to equip learners with practical skills for diverse environments.
  • The Linux Shell and Filesystem
    • This module introduces the fundamentals of navigating and managing the Linux filesystem using the command-line interface. Learners will gain hands-on experience with essential commands for file operations, permissions, searching, and text processing. By the end, you will be equipped to efficiently handle files, directories, and security settings in a Linux environment.
  • Linux Software Management
    • This module introduces the fundamentals of managing software on Linux systems, including the use of DEB and RPM package managers, as well as modern tools like Snap and Flatpak. Learners will gain hands-on experience installing, updating, and removing software packages across different Linux distributions. The module also covers techniques for searching, listing, and managing package information effectively.
  • Managing Users and Groups
    • This module introduces the essential tools and techniques for managing users and groups in Linux, including creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts and groups. Learners will also explore permission management to ensure secure and efficient system administration. Practical examples and command-line utilities are emphasized throughout.
  • Working with Processes, Daemons, and Signals
    • This module introduces the fundamentals of Linux process management, including the roles and characteristics of processes and daemons.
