Syllabus

  • Working with Disks and Filesystems
    • This module introduces essential Linux storage administration skills, including disk partitioning, device naming conventions, and Logical Volume Management (LVM). Learners will gain hands-on experience with creating, formatting, mounting, and managing partitions, as well as understanding how Linux organizes and interacts with storage devices.
  • Networking with Linux
    • This module introduces the foundational concepts of Linux networking, including the TCP/IP stack, IP addressing (IPv4 and IPv6), and essential network services such as DNS, NTP, and FTP. Learners will gain hands-on experience configuring network interfaces, managing dynamic IP assignments, and implementing secure authentication methods. Practical CLI-based exercises and security best practices are emphasized throughout.
  • Linux Shell Scripting
    • This module introduces the fundamentals of Linux shell scripting, including script structure, variables, loops, and text processing tools such as sed and awk. Learners will gain hands-on experience automating tasks, managing input/output, and applying best practices for scripting in a command-line environment.
  • Securing Linux
    • This module introduces key Linux security mechanisms, including SELinux and AppArmor access controls, as well as firewall configuration using iptables and nftables. Learners will gain hands-on experience implementing and managing security policies to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access and network threats.
  • Disaster Recovery, Diagnostics, and Troubleshooting
    • This module introduces essential strategies for disaster recovery, including risk assessment, system backup and restoration using tools like dd and ReaR, and practical troubleshooting techniques for Linux systems. Learners will gain hands-on experience with diagnostic commands to address disk, system load, and network connectivity issues. By the end, you will be equipped to protect and recover Linux systems from common failures.
