This course introduces the foundational concepts and practices that support effective total rewards and employee development for a global workforce. You will examine the key components of employee compensation and how legal requirements influence pay practices to promote fairness, consistency, and compliance across the organization. It covers common employee benefit programs, eligibility rules, and workplace flexibility options, as well as the stages of the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, and documentation. It also explores training and career development practices that support employee growth and retention. In addition, the course addresses data privacy and confidentiality requirements related to compensation, benefits, and performance information. By the end of this course, you will be able to: ● Describe compensation components and legal requirements that influence pay practices ● Explain employee benefit programs, eligibility rules, and workplace flexibility options ● Identify performance management stages, including goal setting, feedback, and documentation ● Describe development, data privacy, and confidentiality practices related to employee growth

Syllabus

  • Compensation and Pay Structures
    • In your first module, you will define key components of compensation systems, explain how regulations impact pay, and describe pay structures and classifications. You will also identify how salary data supports compensation decisions and outline HR’s role in payroll management.
  • Managing Benefits and Work–Life Balance
    • In this module, you will identify key employee benefits, explain how to communicate them effectively, define HR’s role in supporting work-life balance, and describe how to guide employees through insurance claims and submissions.
  • Training Employees
    • In module 3, you will explain how training needs are identified, describe how learning and instructional design principles shape training programs, summarize how training is delivered, and outline how its effectiveness is evaluated and applied
  • Career Development and Retention
    • In this module, you will explain how organizations support employee career development, describe how development and change management influence retention, and identify key legal considerations in training and development.
