From crowd-pleasers to cellar staples, dive into the evolution of this young, emerging wine region.
Washington produces more wine than any state in the US aside from California. We often think of Washington as a place of rainforests and cloudy skies. But its Columbia Valley is a vast growing region with dry weather and long, sunny days that ripen robust red wines.
This class looks at Washington’s terrain and soils, formed by tectonic drift, volcanos and ice age glaciers. Then it covers every AVA in detail, including the Walla Walla Valley which it shares with Oregon.
