Overview

Join our experienced chef to craft homemade pasta entirely from scratch. Your group will prepare, knead, and develop a classic pasta dough using traditional methods, hand-shape beautiful pappardelle pasta, and create both marinara and vibrant pesto sauces made entirely from fresh ingredients. At the class conclusion, your group will sit down to enjoy delicious handmade pasta prepared during the workshop.

Materials Needed to Participate Fully:

  • All-purpose flour, or gluten-free flour for those with dietary requirements
  • Semolina flour, or all-purpose flour as an alternative
  • Salt to taste
  • One fresh bay leaf
  • One 14-ounce can of tomatoes
  • Pine nuts, or pistachios, almonds, sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds as substitutes
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Two large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup ground parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, minced
  • Six fresh garlic cloves, minced
  • Two sprigs of fresh thyme, or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • One fresh bunch of basil leaves
  • Fork for making pasta
  • Rolling pin or pasta machine
  • Baking sheet for organizing pasta
  • Large pot for cooking pasta
  • Colander or spider strainer
  • Sharp chef's knife
  • Cutting board
  • Saucepan for making sauce
  • Wooden spoon for stirring
  • Rubber spatula
