Chapter 1 & 2 – Getting Started and Preparations

In this chapter, we explore the fundamentals of compositing, including its capabilities and practical applications. We also guide you through setting up essential tools, such as Blender and useful add-ons, to create an efficient compositing workspace.

Chapter 9 Tracking Basics

In this chapter, we focus on 2D and 3D tracking techniques, including how to perform plane tracks and refine 3D camera tracking to integrate elements into footage. By the end, you'll be able to add 2D or 3D elements seamlessly to your scenes.

Chapter 10 Scene 04 - Landing

In this chapter, we go through creating a full shot using real footage, turning a daytime car park scene into a nighttime setting, with masks and CG elements. It also covers adding effects like glow, vignette, and film grain to create a dramatic emergency landing scene.

Chapter 11 Keying Fundamentals

In this chapter, we cover rotoscoping and keying, masking real footage to composite CG elements into stock video. We also extract elements from green or blue screens using professional keying workflows to isolate an actor for our next major scene.

Chapter 12 Scene 05 - Commander

In this chapter, we integrate the keyed actor into a CG environment using layering, grading, and filter effects. We add grunge to a window with 2D tracking, create an animated defocus effect, and adjust lighting to blend the actor seamlessly into the scene.
