Rehabilitation Medicine is a basic undergraduate vocational course for the Rehabilitation Therapy program in the School of Medicine and Pharmacy. It aims to systematically introduce the core theories and practical techniques of modern rehabilitation medicine. The course content comprehensively covers rehabilitation assessment and treatment of common functional disorders and diseases, including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, peripheral nerve injury, Parkinson's disease, post-fracture rehabilitation, knee joint injury, coronary heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as childhood developmental disorders such as autism and cerebral palsy.
This course highlights two key features: "integration of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine" and "practical operation of rehabilitation techniques". It not only teaches modern rehabilitation assessment and training methods, such as Bobath technique, exercise prescription, and the use of assistive devices, but also integrates traditional rehabilitation methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine like acupuncture and tuina (Chinese massage), reflecting the diversity and comprehensiveness of rehabilitation therapy. Through modular teaching design, each session focuses on concise and targeted content, emphasizing the cultivation of clinical thinking and practical operation abilities. It helps students establish a complete rehabilitation process concept from assessment to intervention.
