Syllabus

  • Week 1: The Human Resource Management (HRM) course begins with an exploration of the fundamental principles and scope of HRM. Students will gain insights into the nature, characteristics, and objectives of effective HRM and understand its critical role in organizational success. The course will cover the development and implementation of human resource policies, emphasizing their importance in creating a fair and consistent workplace. Additionally, students will learn about organizing the HR function, including the structure of HR departments and the roles and responsibilities of HR managers.
  • Week 2: The course will also delve into essential HR processes, starting with Human Resource Planning (HRP). Participants will learn to forecast HR needs, identify potential challenges, and create strategies to address workforce demands. The recruitment and selection segment will cover job analysis, recruitment processes, and selection methods to ensure effective hiring practices. Furthermore, training and development will focus on designing training programs and evaluating their effectiveness in enhancing employee skills and performance.
  • Week 3: In the latter part of the course, students will explore performance management, including appraisal processes and methods, and learn how to provide constructive feedback to support employee development. The course will also address compensation and benefits strategies that attract and retain talent, along with the significance of fostering positive employee relations and conflict resolution. To culminate their learning, students will apply HRM concepts to real-world scenarios through case studies and group projects, promoting a comprehensive understanding of the field.
