This CBCS Core course of B.A. (Hons.) in Hindi entitled ‘History of Hindi Literature (Aadikal to Ritikal)’ is confined to the History of Hindi Literature from bigining of Hindi Sahitya i.e. Aadikal to Ritikal. This course has been prepared with a specific aim to understand the literary development and writing of Hindi literature, which began in 11th century onwards with Nath sahitya, raso kavya etc.
After Aadikal students are familier with Bhaktikal of Hindi Literature. Many scholars of Hindi Literature believe that it was started in the year 1318. Particularly the Bhaktikal of history of Hindi literature is very rich in the truest sense of the term, so far as its content and varieties are concerned. It is worth mentioning that Bhaktikal of Hindi literature is very rich in all its divisions. Various forms of poetry are created by the renowned poets. A few of them are Kabir, Raidas, Dadudayal, Qutaban, Malik Muhammad Jayasi, Nur Muhammad, Tulsidas, Surdas, and Meerabai etc.
After Bhaktikal, students are familier with Ritikal of Hindi Literature which began at around 1650. Various forms of poetry are created by the renowned poets in Ritikal. A few of them are Chintamani Tripathi, Bihari, Matiram, Bhushan, Deva, Vrinda, Aalam, Bodha, Ghananand etc.
