Overview

Explore the powerful intersection of music and social justice movements in this 4-hour course that examines how soundtracks have shaped and amplified calls for change throughout history. Cultivate personal and professional learning through three interconnected dimensions: developing your inner meditator for reflection and peace, unleashing your artist for creativity and expression, and strengthening your warrior spirit for resilient action. Navigate uncertainty through futures literacy and systems thinking to understand how musical movements create ripple effects across society, economics, and wellbeing. Practice sustainable thinking and holistic approaches that connect nature, technology, media, and social change through the lens of musical activism. Design student-centered learning experiences that develop empathy and global citizenship skills by analyzing how music builds bridges between diverse communities and movements.
