Engage with complexity and uncertainty using futures literacy, systems thinking, and deep ecology principles to understand the interdependent relationships between yourself, community, and planet. Practice sustainable and holistic thinking across nature, economics, media, technology, society, and wellbeing domains. Design student-centered learning experiences that develop empathy-to-impact skills and global citizenship dispositions. Share your transformation journey through interactive activities, online forums, video reflections, live seminars, and portfolio development that captures your learning application and personal growth.

Syllabus

  • Be Engaged: Cultivate personal and professional learning connected to our inner meditator (reflection, insight, peace), artist (creativity, joy, expression), and warrior (resilience, courage, peaceful action).
  • Live and Learn Mindfully: In our lives and teaching, apply tools, resources, and skills that cultivate opportunities for greater compassion, connection, understanding, and action.
  • Embrace Change and Interbeing: Be brave and engage with complexity and uncertainty through futures literacy, systems thinking, and deep ecology to understand how the interdependent nature of ourselves, our community, and our planet can lead to diverse and meaningful learning and action.
  • Demonstrate Sustainable and Inner-Development: Practice with and integrate a range of shared tools, resources and skills for thinking and acting sustainably and holistically for nature, economics, media and technology, society, and wellbeing.
  • Interpret and Create: Understand and design student-centered, Empathy to Impact learning experiences that bring out skills and dispositions of holistic global citizenship in learners.
