Master screening techniques to assess oral health status in diabetic patients and develop competencies in appropriate referral protocols to dental services. Examine additional risk factors that predispose individuals with diabetes to oral health complications and recognize common barriers that prevent patients from accessing necessary oral health care. Understand how blood glucose management and diabetes control directly influence oral health outcomes, while gaining awareness of how oral health problems can complicate diabetes management strategies. Build counseling and education skills to effectively communicate with patients about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene as part of their comprehensive diabetes care plan.
