Courses
-
In this course, you will focus on building product organizations and developing the leadership mindset needed to guide teams. You will compare strong and weak product companies, consider what to do in a weak product company, and reflect on product culture. You will study how to build product teams, map teams to products, consider team ratios and topology, motivate teams, and hire product managers. The course then turns to leadership principles, including leadership versus management, stakeholder models, influence, wielding influence, and leading without authority. You will also examine the product leader's mindset, including in-tune leadership, the effects of power, power poisoning, taking control, and assertiveness. Through exercises, role plays, dialogues, and knowledge checks, you will connect organizational design with practical product leadership behavior.
-
In this course, you will build a foundation in product strategy and examine how product leaders connect product direction with business strategy. You will distinguish product vision from strategy, define the characteristics of strong product strategy, and consider how market changes can affect strategic choices. You will then explore how different product models shape strategy, including B2C, B2B, B2B2C, marketplaces, platforms, and products in regulated industries. Along the way, you will apply ideas through reflective exercises, a dialogue on whether a scenario represents a vision or a strategy, and a role play focused on launch review with compliance. By the end of the course, you will be prepared to reason about product strategy across business models, market conditions, and regulatory contexts.
