The ACS is designed to provide clear information about what an applicant must know, consider, and do to qualify for a specific certificate or rating. It provides a framework that integrates and aligns standards, guidance, and testing for airman certification.The purpose of this 20 minute course is to provide information to applicants, instructors and evaluators such as designated pilot examiners (DPEs) about using the ACS in the teaching, training and testing phases of airman certification.
