This course satisfies the requirements outlined in Section 2307 of the Federal Aviation Administration Extension, Safety and Security Act of 2016 covering the alternative medical qualification pathway for private pilots (known as FAA BasicMed) The course will review all areas identified in the legislation. In addition, the course will cover regulations regarding prohibition of flight operations if a medical deficiency does exist. After completing a short quiz at the end of the course, the pilot will receive a certificate of completion electronically that will need to be retained by the airman to meet FAA BasicMed requirementsNOTE: Participating pilots will need to have completed the Comprehensive Medical Examination Checklist (CMEC) with a state-licensed physician or with their FAA-designated Aviation Medical Examiner prior to registering and completing the course.
