After completing this course, you’ll be able to: • Explain the components and services within Microsoft 365, including Office applications, collaboration tools, and cloud-based services. • Explain the integration between Microsoft 365 applications and their role in business productivity and security. • Describe M365 tools available for automation. This is also a great way to prepare for the Microsoft MS-900 exam. By passing the MS-900 exam, you’ll earn the Microsoft 365 Fundamentals certification. This course is for beginners, but you should have a basic familiarity with using and navigating a Windows or macOS environment and a fundamental understanding of computer software applications. As you'll be directed to install the Microsoft 365 Personal package, your computer must meet certain hardware specifications to run the associated applications properly: For PC: • Windows 10 or 11 • 1.6 GHz or faster, 2-core processor or higher. • 4GB RAM • 4GB of available hard disk space • DirectX 10 graphics card • 1280 x 768 screen resolution or higher For Mac: • The three most recent versions of macOS • Intel processor or Apple Silicon chip • 4GB RAM • 10 GB of available disk space, HFS+ hard disk format (also known as macOS Extended) or APFS. • 1280 x 768 screen resolution or higher

Syllabus

  • Introduction to Microsoft 365 Components and Services
    • In this module, you will explore the core components of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Office applications, collaboration tools, and cloud services. You will learn how tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint function and integrate to support productivity and communication. By the end of this module, you will be able to describe how cloud-based services enhance data management and streamline collaboration in business environments.
  • Integration and business productivity
    • This module focuses on how Microsoft 365 applications integrate with each other and with third-party tools to improve workflow efficiency. You will examine how integration supports communication, scheduling, and task management, while also exploring the role of digital platforms in enhancing business productivity. By the end, you will be able to explain integration principles and apply them to optimize business operations.
  • Security and automation
    • In this module, you will explore security and automation within Microsoft 365, focusing on protecting data and improving operational efficiency. You will learn about security features such as endpoint protection, data loss prevention, and multi-factor authentication, along with common threats and vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will examine how automation tools like Power Automate and Office Scripts streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Final Project and Assessment: The Microsoft 365 Ecosystem
    • In this module, you will apply your understanding of Microsoft 365 by analyzing business needs and recommending appropriate tools, services, and security features. You will evaluate how Microsoft 365 applications support collaboration, productivity, and data protection, and use this knowledge to create practical, real-world recommendations aligned with organizational requirements.
