Every successful project depends on more than a well-defined plan. It requires the ability to anticipate uncertainty, maintain high quality, manage budgets responsibly, and work effectively with vendors. In this course, learners develop practical skills across four essential project management disciplines: Risk, Quality, Cost, and Procurement Management. Through real-world examples, hands-on exercises, and industry-recognized PMBOK practices, participants learn how to identify and assess project risks, create effective quality management plans, build realistic project budgets, and manage procurement activities from vendor selection through contract administration. Designed for aspiring and early-career project managers, this course emphasizes practical application over theory. Learners will build risk registers, conduct qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, implement quality assurance and quality control processes, apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to monitor project performance, and develop procurement documents such as Statements of Work (SOWs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs). By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to make informed, data-driven decisions that reduce project uncertainty, improve quality, control costs, and strengthen vendor relationships, enabling them to deliver successful projects with greater confidence and accountability.

Syllabus

  • Risk Management Fundamentals
    • Risk is uncertainty with impact. In this module, learners build the discipline to uncover hidden threats and opportunities, evaluate their significance, and respond with proportional strategies. Through templates and case scenarios, learners will practice identifying risks, performing qualitative and quantitative analysis, and creating actionable response and monitoring plans.
  • Quality by Design and Control
    • Quality is planned, not inspected at the end. Define standards and metrics, execute assurance activities, and apply control tools to detect and correct variances before they reach stakeholders.
  • Cost & Procurement Management
    • Estimate and budget accurately, measure performance against the baseline, and run a fair, transparent procurement process from make-or-buy to contract close-out.
