Syllabus

  • Drafting and Sending Policy Communications
    • A policy update that employees don’t read is a policy that doesn’t exist. This module teaches you to craft policy-update emails that actually get opened and acted upon, using professional writing techniques, Copilot Coaching in Outlook for tone refinement, and Outlook scheduling features to maximize engagement. Note: All policy communications must be aligned with your organization’s legal and compliance policies and requirements before distribution.
  • Tracking Engagement and Following Up
    • Sending an email isn’t the same as communicating. You need to know it landed. This module teaches you to analyze policy-acknowledgment signals — Microsoft Forms attestation completions, with e-signature returns for compliance-critical policies — and craft targeted follow-up communications that close the gap between 'sent’ and 'acknowledged.’
  • Distributing Policies via Teams
    • Email inboxes overflow, but Teams channels stay accessible. This module teaches you to use Microsoft Teams as a policy distribution channel, including formatting announcements for maximum accessibility and integrating e-signature links that drive acknowledgement.
  • Tracking Acknowledgements and Following Up
    • An unsigned policy is an unacknowledged risk. This module teaches you to monitor e-signature completion rates and conduct targeted outreach to pending signers—turning compliance tracking into a proactive rather than reactive process.
  • Building Your First Power Automate Flow
    • Every hour spent manually filing documents is an hour not spent on strategic work. This module introduces Power Automate fundamentals and guides you through creating your first automated flow—saving email attachments to SharePoint without lifting a finger.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting Flows
    • Automation without oversight is a risk in disguise. This module teaches you to monitor automated flows, interpret run history, and escalate issues appropriately—because a flow that fails silently can cause problems that compound for weeks.
  • Applying the 5-Whys Technique
    • Fixing symptoms feels productive, but problems keep coming back. This module introduces the 5-Whys root cause analysis technique, a systematic approach to diagnosing why things really go wrong, not just what went wrong.
  • Reviewing and Refining Your Analysis
    • Even experts miss things, and that’s why calibration matters. This module teaches you to evaluate your problem-solving work by comparing it with expert analysis, revealing blind spots you didn’t know you had and sharpening your diagnostic skills.
  • Connecting Tasks to Strategic Objectives
    • Busy isn’t the same as strategic, and leadership knows the difference. This module introduces OKR alignment concepts and teaches you to categorize HR tasks using Planner labels, so every to-do connects to outcomes that matter.
  • Auditing for Untagged Tasks
    • Untagged tasks are invisible work, and invisible work gets undervalued. This module teaches you to use Planner’s filtering features to identify tasks without OKR tags — whether you align via labels (Basic) or Goal links (Premium) — and ensure your entire workload connects to strategic priorities.
  • Policy Rollout & Process Optimization Project
    • This capstone project brings together everything you have learned about process execution and policy management. You will plan and document a complete policy rollout workflow, conduct root cause analysis on a process failure, and demonstrate how your work connects to organizational objectives.
