This course will provide an overview of the most popular information systems needs’ assessment methodologies including portfolio analysis, stage assessment, business systems planning. Topics include utilities Information Systems strategic plan prioritization techniques of business goal alignment, architectural compatibility, and cost/benefit and risk analysis demonstrating how businesses match needs to budgetary constraints. This course will describe and evaluate options for the placement of the Information Systems function within an organization and a variety of methods to manage the function.

  • Resources
    • In this module, you will learn about resource management plans, collaboration, team organization charts, and RACI matrices.
  • Communications
    • In this module, you will learn about communication and communication management, strategies for assessing communication effectiveness, and analysis of communication challenges and solutions.
  • Risk
    • In this module, you will learn about developing risk management plans, categorizing and analyzing risks, applying risk analysis in real-world scenarios, using SWOT analysis, and exploring case studies to understand risk management strategies.
  • Procurement
    • This module covers the key aspects of procurement management, emphasizing its role in project success. You will learn about planning procurement activities, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and make-or-buy analysis. The module also addresses evaluating contract types and overcoming procurement challenges. By the end of this module, you should feel equipped to manage procurement processes effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation and project outcomes.
  • Stakeholders
    • This module focuses on identifying and engaging project stakeholders effectively. You will learn to classify stakeholders, create and use a stakeholder register, manage stakeholder expectations, and draft a project proposal outlining key stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Enterprise Architecture
    • This module explores the concept of enterprise architecture (EA) and its critical role in aligning business strategy with IT initiatives within modern organizations. You will also learn about successful approaches to organizational-wide information systems planning, the use of conceptual models to enhance EA practice, and the identification of central components and objectives of EA.
  • PMBOK Deep Dive and Final Exam Prep
    • This module delves into key project management principles and their importance in executing projects effectively and engaging stakeholders. You will also examine the impact of project performance domains on success, the tailoring of management approaches to specific project needs, various models and methods to enhance project delivery, and the benefits of PMP certification.
