What Is Peer Review?
- This module explores the purpose and process of peer review in academic publishing, from initial submission through to editorial decisions. You will learn about the different models of peer review, including single-anonymous, double-anonymous, triple-anonymous, and open review, and examine their respective strengths and limitations. The module also provides guidance on preparing your manuscript to meet reviewer and editor expectations, helping you navigate the peer review process with greater confidence and reduce the risk of desk rejection.
Dealing With Feedback
- This module explores how to respond effectively to peer review feedback and navigate the outcomes of the review process. You will learn how to interpret reviewer comments, make constructive revisions to strengthen your manuscript, and communicate changes clearly. The module also examines strategies for handling rejection, building resilience, and using feedback to improve your chances of publication in future submissions.
Becoming a Peer Reviewer
- This module introduces the role and responsibilities of peer reviewers in the academic publishing process. You will learn how to become a peer reviewer, understand the ethical principles that underpin effective and responsible reviewing, and recognize when it is appropriate to accept a review invitation. The module also provides practical guidance on writing constructive, professional, and insightful reviews that help authors improve their work while supporting the integrity of scholarly publishing.
