This course equips you with the advanced skills needed to secure and optimize modern networks. Starting with EtherChannel, you'll learn how to improve bandwidth efficiency through load balancing and multi-path connections. The course also covers important protocols like StackWise and Layer 3 EtherChannel, which ensure high performance and network redundancy. You’ll get hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting these technologies, giving you the practical skills to manage complex network environments. Moving into network security, the course delves into key topics such as Access Control Lists (ACLs), DHCP snooping, and Dynamic ARP Inspection (DAI). You’ll learn how to secure your switches, prevent unauthorized devices from accessing your network, and lock ports to specific hosts. This section provides critical insights into identity-based networking (802.1X) and the best practices for implementing SSH for secure remote management. Lab demos ensure you can apply these methods in real-world environments. Finally, the course explores network optimization techniques like Network Address Translation (NAT) and Port Address Translation (PAT), enabling you to manage IPv4 address exhaustion and optimize routing for large-scale networks. IPv6 routing is also covered to future-proof your skills. Through a combination of security best practices and network optimization strategies, you will leave this course equipped to handle any networking challenge with confidence. This course is ideal for network administrators and IT professionals looking to improve their security and optimization skills. A basic understanding of Cisco networking is recommended, but no advanced security knowledge is required.

By the end of this section, you will be equipped with practical troubleshooting skills essential for maintaining a stable network.
  • IGP Interior Gateway Protocol Fundamentals
    • In this module, we will introduce Interior Gateway Protocols (IGPs) and their role in internal network routing. You will gain hands-on experience configuring RIP and EIGRP, learning how these protocols facilitate efficient data routing within networks.
  • OSPF - Open Shortest Path First
    • In this module, we will dive deep into OSPF, a widely used dynamic routing protocol designed for scalability and efficiency. Through both theoretical explanations and lab demonstrations, you will learn how to configure and optimize OSPF networks.
  • VLANs Virtual Local Area Networks
    • In this module, we will explore the role of VLANs in modern network design, including campus LAN architecture and VLAN trunking. You will learn to configure VLANs, understand their importance, and apply best practices in network segmentation.
  • Inter-VLAN Routing
    • In this module, we will examine how devices in different VLANs communicate using various Inter-VLAN routing techniques. You will gain hands-on experience configuring routers and Layer 3 switches to enable efficient VLAN communication.
  • DHCP - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
    • In this module, we will explore DHCP and its importance in managing IP addresses dynamically. You will learn how to configure a DHCP server, use an external DHCP service, and troubleshoot common DHCP-related network issues.
  • HSRP - Hot Standby Router Protocol
    • In this module, we will examine HSRP and its role in ensuring network availability through redundancy. You will gain practical knowledge of configuring and optimizing HSRP for high availability in enterprise networks.
  • STP - Spanning Tree Protocol
    • In this module, we will explore the Spanning Tree Protocol and its role in maintaining a stable, loop-free network. You will learn about STP enhancements like RSTP and MSTP, as well as practical configuration and troubleshooting techniques.
  • EtherChannel
    • In this module, we will cover EtherChannel technology, which allows multiple links to be aggregated into a single logical connection. You will gain hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting EtherChannel for improved network efficiency.
  • Switch Security
    • In this module, we will focus on securing network switches from unauthorized access and attacks. You will learn about advanced security features, including port security, DHCP snooping, and identity-based networking for robust switch security.
  • ACLs - Access Control Lists
    • In this module, we will explore how ACLs help regulate network access by filtering traffic based on IP addresses, protocols, and ports. You will gain practical experience in configuring and troubleshooting ACLs to enhance network security.
  • NAT - Network Address Translation
    • In this module, we will explore how NAT helps mitigate IPv4 address exhaustion by translating private addresses to public ones. You will learn to configure different types of NAT and apply best practices for efficient network management.
  • IPv6 Addressing and Routing
    • In this module, we will dive into IPv6, understanding its necessity and addressing structure. You will gain practical experience configuring IPv6 networks and implementing static routing in an IPv6 environment.
