Syllabus

  • Introduction to product management
    • In this module, you will be introduced to the core concepts of product management, including its role within an organization, key elements such as product vision, strategy, and roadmap, common product management methodologies, and the Microsoft enterprise product management ecosystem.
  • Market research and competitive analysis fundamentals
    • You will explore the fundamentals of market research and competitive analysis in a B2B product context. You will examine customer needs, market dynamics, and common methods used to collect and analyze market data. You will also look at how research and competitive insights inform product decisions, including the use of Microsoft tools to work with enterprise market data.
  • Product development life cycle
    • In this module, you will examine the stages of a typical product development life cycle, from ideation through launch and mature product management. You will look at the key activities and deliverables associated with each stage, along with common challenges and risks that can arise across the process. You will also consider how enterprise security and compliance requirements fit within product development.
  • Product strategy development
    • In this module, you will explore the core concepts of product strategy development, including product vision, strategic alignment, and value proposition design. You will examine how product strategy connects to business goals, market context, and organizational success, especially in enterprise software settings. You will also look at how factors such as security, compliance, scalability, and AI capabilities can shape strategic product decisions.
  • Product roadmap and requirements
    • In this module, you will examine how a product roadmap communicates planned features, timelines, and priorities. You will focus on how features are prioritized based on strategic importance and customer value, and how product requirements stay aligned through stakeholder input. You will also look at how roadmap development is supported within Microsoft tools.
