Strong leaders aren’t defined by having all the answers. They’re defined by how they make decisions, solve problems, and lead through complexity. In this course, you’ll develop the skills to make confident, high-quality decisions, tackle real-world problems with clarity, and navigate the ambiguity that comes with leadership. You’ll learn how to balance data, judgment, and experience, avoid common decision traps, and lead your team through challenges with intention and focus. Through practical frameworks and real-world application, this course moves beyond theory, giving you tools you can use immediately to improve outcomes, strengthen your leadership credibility, and drive meaningful impact in your organization.

Syllabus

  • Decision Making as a Leadership Skill
    • In this module, you’ll explore decision-making as a core leadership skill—not just a task, but a responsibility that shapes outcomes, teams, and long-term success. You’ll examine how effective leaders make decisions by balancing data, experience, and judgment, while navigating bias, risk, and uncertainty along the way. You’ll also learn how to evaluate decision quality over time, recognizing that strong leadership isn’t about always being right. It’s about making thoughtful, informed choices and learning from the results. By the end of this module, you’ll have practical strategies to improve how you approach decisions in real-world leadership situations.
  • Problem-Solving in Practice
    • In this module, you’ll move beyond identifying issues to solving the right problems in a way that leads to meaningful results. Leaders are often faced with complex challenges, but jumping to solutions too quickly can lead to wasted time, misalignment, and recurring issues. You’ll learn how to define problems clearly by getting to the root cause, engage others in collaborative problem-solving, and move from ideas to execution with intention. Throughout this module, you’ll focus on practical strategies you can apply immediately to lead more effective problem-solving efforts within your team or organization. By the end of this module, you’ll be equipped to approach problems more strategically, involve the right people at the right time, and ensure that solutions are not only identified but also successfully implemented.
  • Leading Strategically Through Complexity
    • In this module, you’ll expand your leadership lens from managing day-to-day decisions to thinking and acting more strategically in complex environments. As leaders grow, the nature of decisions changes—becoming less about immediate tasks and more about navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and considering long-term impact. You’ll explore what it means to transition from a supervisor mindset to a strategic leader, how decision-making evolves at higher levels of responsibility, and how to strengthen your leadership judgment in situations where there are no clear answers. Throughout this module, you’ll focus on developing the awareness and discipline needed to lead effectively in complex, uncertain, and high-stakes environments. By the end of this module, you’ll be better equipped to make thoughtful, forward-looking decisions that align with broader goals and drive meaningful impact.
