This course helps business professionals understand how ethics changes as AI becomes more integrated into the way we work, negotiate, and make decisions. It combines the foundations of human ethics and negotiation with practical guidance on applying those principles in AI-enabled organisations.
The course begins by exploring the ethics of negotiation and the Four Ethical Pillars that shape responsible human behaviour. From there, it moves through different stages of AI integration — from AI as a support tool, to human-AI collaboration, and eventually autonomous AI agents. At each stage, the course examines the real ethical questions businesses face, including trust, accountability, transparency, bias, decision-making, and governance.
Rather than focusing only on theory, the course is highly practical and engaging. Each chapter includes real-world examples, practical readings, and exercises designed to help learners apply ethical thinking directly to business situations. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to use AI responsibly, negotiate more ethically, and make better decisions as AI becomes a larger part of everyday business operations.
Ideal for organisations looking to build practical, ethical AI capability across teams and leadership.
Overview
Syllabus
- Introduction to the Ethics of Negotiation
- Welcome to the course! Here we examine the foundations of trust in a corporation and why it's important.
- The 4 Ethical Pillars - Human Baseline
- Here we introduce the 4 Ethical Pillars - which we will be using throughout the course to assess AI integration into your business. What are our ethical standards as humans and businesspeople?
- Level 1 AI – Support & Augmentation
- In this section we look at using AI as a tool - for support or augmentation. How that applies to the four pillars and where it sits ethically in your business.
- Level 2 AI – Human-AI Teaming
- In this section we look at the ethics behind replacing team members with AI. We look at the limitation of that and how it will sit for you ethically.
- Level 3 AI – Autonomous Agents
- This module looks at giving AI Agents autonomy to make decisions and take actions. We examine the ethical risks with this based on the four pillars.
- Systemic Risks & Governance
- Finally, we look at the systems we need to set up to make sure AI is integrated as ethically and sustainably as possible. To protect all stakeholders whilst still being commercially viable. Let's design organisations to ensure that they integrate AI ethically at all levels.
